Maria Jose Cordero is a Venezuelan native with a background in chemistry who emigrated to the United States in 2017. From 2017 to 2021, she immersed herself in the music industry, honing her organizational prowess as a personal assistant for a renowned music supervisor. Maria transitioned into the beauty industry in 2021, where she found her niche as a front-of-house manager at two prestigious West End nail salons.

Co-Owner & Head Nail Technician
With nearly two decades of experience, Marjorie has joined forces with her colleague Maria Jose Cordero to establish Mar Beauty Lounge, the premier destination for sustainable nail care in Washington. Drawing from her 15+ years of experience as a licensed nail technician in Maryland and DC, Marjorie has developed a suite of cutting-edge techniques and services centered on innovative waterless manicures and pedicures — providing unparalleled levels of client relaxation and satisfaction.
Marjorie and Maria founded Mar to address the absence of clean, sustainable, eco-conscious beauty brands focused on top-tier nail care and design. Our aim is to offer an unparalleled luxury experience grounded in high-quality service and an exclusive array of vegan, non-toxic products.
